I am a new Membership PLUS user and need to know how to set Properties for the program.
Program Properties are items that affect the way the program behaves or appears.

To set Program Properties:

  1. In Membership PLUS click File.
  2. Select Properties.

  3. Begin by selecting General in the Properties dialog box.
  4. Set the following properties:

Family Indentation Value: The Family Indentation Value field allows you to specify how much to indent the names of individuals under their family name in lists like the Member Browser. If you leave the value at zero, all names will be left aligned; increasing the value indents guardians the specified number of spaces under the family name, and dependents that many more spaces under the guardian names.
Show the Date and Time on the Status Bar: Select if you wish to see the Date and Time in the bottom right hand corner of the program.
Show Backup Data Reminder at Program Exit: Display a reminder to create a Backup when you exit the program.
Save Grid Layout: If this option is selected any changes made to the Grids will automatically be saved.
Automatically Edit Records: This option will allow you to automatically begin editing records by clicking in the appropriate field. If this option is not selected, you will need to click Edit each time before being able to edit information.
Save Desktop on Program Exit: Save changes made to the Desktop when you exit the program.
Require "/" Key for Default Address: This option will automatically enter all information located in the Address Defaults section of Properties by using the "/" key. This information includes City, State, Zip Code, and Country. Very efficient way to accomplish data entry of new members into the program.

  5. Next, select Default Data Set path to specify the default location for storing your data.
  6. Click Sample Data Set Path to enter the path where the sample data is stored. This location was set during program setup. However, if you have created your own "practice" data set, you might want to enter that path here in place of the path to the program-supplied data set.
  7. Select Report Archives to select options to archive and purge reports.
  8. Click OK-Save to save all changes that have been made to these Properties.
