- How do I disable the UAC on a Microsoft Vista operating system?


- Before disabling UAC, try to right click on the Membership PLUS shortcut and select Run as Administrator. If this does not correct the errors, continue with the steps below to disable the UAC.
- To disable UAC on Windows Vista.
To disable UAC:
- On the Windows Taskbar, click Start, then select Control Panel.
- Click User Accounts.
- Click User Accounts again.
- Click Turn User Account Control on or off.
- Deselect Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer, then click OK.
- You will be prompted to restart your computer. Please do so at this time.
- To disable UAC on Windows 7.
To disable UAC:
- On the Windows Taskbar, click Start, then select Control Panel.
- Click User Accounts.
- Click User Accounts again.
- Click Change user Account Control Settings.

- Move the slider down to Never Notify, then click OK.

- You will be prompted to restart your computer. Please do so at this time.
If UNC mapping exists in My Computer, you can disconnect that drive and then logically map. Then setup the workstation. If desired you can then re-enable the UAC. Reboot the computer for UAC to then take affect.
